Joe Ross

As an Oklahoma native, Joe Ross has come to appreciate and value local history. Joe's love of history began in the sixth grade in the National History Day competition were he qualified for the national competition six out of seven years at the University of Maryland, College Park campus. Through his work with National History Day, Joe received the Joseph B. Thoburn Student Historian award in recognition for his work with Oklahoma history.
After completing a Bachelor's of Arts with a major in Philosophy at Oklahoma State, and attending a Masters of Arts in Theology at Abilene Christian University, Joe entered the Teach for America program at Frederick A. Douglass High School in Oklahoma City to teach 11th grade U.S. and AP U.S. History. In 2016 after completing the program, Joe began teaching U.S. and AP U.S. History at MOT Charter High School in Middletown, Delaware. He is excited to learn more about the rich local history Delaware has to offer and passing down his passion for history to the students of MOT High School.
